ARTICLES & PHOTO SUBMISSIONS
Calling all writers and photographers – or hobbyist-journalists – we want to read your stories and view your images! Now’s not the time to be shy. Get involved and you may find your work published in the quality pages of TAMPA BAY TENNIS! Here are a few rules and guidelines: when submitting photography, include a caption that details the location, date, people, and any other important information that will help add context to the image; article topics are broad and have a wide range of word counts. Here are some guidelines:
- BRIEF TIDBITS [50-250 words] are normally a short story or quote that is funny, inspirational, a “love match” tennis couple profile, event results and accomplishments, a great photo with caption, a pro hitting tip, player profile, etc. Anything goes – use your imagination and creativity, go ahead and get “wild and crazy” [to a point!] – we want your involvement!
- SHORT FEATURES [350-600 words] are articles that require more words and space than a BRIEF TIDBIT to tell the full story. The article has a title, subtitle, pull quotes, and maybe a side box of information to complement the meat of the article. The SHORT FEATURE might include several quotes from locals to help round out the article and to add depth, validity, and entertainment. Please include corresponding photography if possible.
- LONG FEATURES [600-1200] are complex in nature and therefore require more words to complete the story. Writers should apply the same guidelines as those mentioned for SHORT FEATUERS. The difference being LONG FEATURES require more words to fully round-out and complete the feature. Please include corresponding photography if possible.
*By submitting content you agree to allow Tampa Bay Tennis to publish your work in any or all of the channels: print, online, e-newsletter, or social.
